Tim is United Bankers’ Agency’s Vice President/Managing Agent and has been instrumental in the acquisition of several innovative insurance products and services over his tenure, ranging from ID TheftSmart and Credit Monitoring, to Cyber Insurance and the customized executive risk solution tailored for community banks, called BankConnect. Melanie Hall, Commissioner, Montana Division of Banking & Financial Institutions Melanie Hall provides the overall leadership to the Banking Division, which is responsible for the supervision of state - chartered banks and credit unions with over 20 billion in total assets. Her division licenses and examines over 1,000 non - bank financial entities including mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers, consumer loan companies, sales finance companies, title lenders, deferred deposit lend ers and escrow businesses. Commissioner Hall obtained her B.A. in Economics from Eckerd College and her juris doctor from Tulane Law School. Patrick Barkey, Director, Bureau of Business & Economic Research, University of Montana Patrick Barkey became director of the BBER in July 2008, after serving as director of health care research since April 2007. He has been involved with economic forecasting and health care policy research for twenty - four years, both in the private and public sector. He served previously as Director of the Bureau of Business Research at Ball State University in Indiana for fourteen years in labor market research, and state and regional economic policy issues. He attended the University of Michigan, receiving a B.A. (’79) and Ph.D. (’86) in economics. Scott Heitkamp, Vice Chairman, ICBA Scot is the Vice Chairman of ICBA. President and CEO of ValueBank Texas in Corpus Christi, Texas, Heitkamp has served ICBA and the community banking industry for decades. He is a member of the Executive Committee and board of directors, former chairman of ICBPAC and previous chairman and current member of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. Heitkamp is a graduate from Texas Tech University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in finance. Dan Stimpson, CPA, Senior Vice President, ICBA Securities Dan is a Senior Vice President in the Strategic Solutions Department of ICBA Securities. In this capacity, Dan works with portfolio managers to assist them in optimizing their investment portfolio return and risk position, while incorporating the entities liquidity needs, risk controls and capital constraints. Dan started working in the financial sector in 2001. He later served as Vice President and Corporate Controller at a community bank. Dan obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees in from the University of Mississippi. Don Bennett and Blayne Bennett, eFinancial Solutions, Inc. Don Bennett graduated from the University of Montana in 1979 and the Pacific Coast Banking School in 1991. Don founded Freedo m Bank in Columbia Falls, Montana in 2005 and started eFinancial Solutions in 2007 to design the AMP Loans software to improve len ding operations for financial institutions through loan portfolio management and collaborative software solutions for the financia l i ndustry. Blayne Bennett started working for eFinancial Solutions in 2011 as the Senior Account Executive. Blayne is responsible for th e implementation, training, and support of the flagship product, AMP Loans. Angela Murdo, CPA, CFE, Shareholder and Callie Blanton, CPA, Senior, Anderson ZurMuehlen & Co., P.C. Angela (Angie) Murdo has a B.S. in Business Administration and a Masters of Accountancy and has worked for Anderson ZurMuehlen & Co., P.C. for fifteen years. Callie Blanton graduated from MSU with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and a Masters of Professional Accountancy and has worked for Anderson ZurMuehlen & Co., P.C. for six years. Both Angie and Callie work in the attest department specializing in audit and consulting work for financial institutions including compliance exams and internal auditing and have received specialized trainings relating to bank compliance including the Federal compliance school.
