11 Spring 2015 The Community Banker Member NewsMember News MIB News MIB Announces the 2015 FDIC Directors’ College M IB will be hosting this year’s FDIC Directors’ College on June 11, 2015 at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel in Helena. Bank directors are encouraged to attend to serve as board members of the FDIC’s San Francisco Region’s interactive, one-day “board meeting” that will highlight important decisions regarding the future strategy for your institutions. Your CEO will guide you through several proposed strategic initiatives. Various scenarios often contemplated by board members will be fused into corporate governance framework of planning, organizing, and controlling risk. And, of course, the planning session will ac- knowledge and incorporate real world issues that you deal with on a daily basis: earnings pressures, competition, cyber security risks, uncertain interest rates, and regulatory requirements. In addition to the “board meeting,” expect a luncheon pre- sentation on local economic conditions, a highlight of various regulatory hot-topics, and a chance to ask questions of the FDIC’s regulatory panel experts. You will also gain an understanding of the numerous FDIC training and communication resources available. Registration is free to current MIB members and $125 for banks who are not members of MIB. More information and online regis- tration can be found at http://mibonline.org/event/2015-fdic-di- rectors-college/ or by calling (406) 449-7444.
